Fine wine’s potential in Asia is still ‘enormous’, said John Kapon, chairman and CEO of Acker Merrall, speaking after its 19 March Hong Kong sale, which netted nearly HK$30m (see Hammer Highlights, right). Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, plus Lafite, Mouton and Pétrus, made up the top 10 in a sale that added Singapore to the house’s existing simulcast cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo.
