Decanter - - HAUT-MEDOC 2010 & 2014 -

Located just outside the village of Arcins between Margaux and Moulis, neighbouring both Châteaux Chasse-Spleen and Poujeaux, Arnauld and its 27ha was acquired by the Allianz Group in 2007, having previously been owned by the Theil Roger family of Poujeaux fame. The wine is typically a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, with fermentation in stainless steel then 18 months in 100% new French oak. Jane Anson 95 James Lawther MW 95 Ronan Sayburn MS 95 Jane Anson Here we get to the aromatics that we expect from a 2010 Bordeaux at this stage of its evolution: young, tight, firm, finessed, not yet open. This is excellent; there is true depth to the fruit, a real lift through the palate, with polish and complexity.

James Lawther MW Seductive nose, ripe and creamy with a generous volume of fruit. Shows elegance, persistence, and maintains a freshness despite the alcohol. Still youthful.

Ronan Sayburn MS Rounded and elegant nose with alluring blackberry and cherry fruits, and creamy oak on the palate that perhaps still lingers a bit too much on the finish. Drink 2019-2027 Alcohol 14%
