WHAT I’VE BEEN DRINKING THIS MONTH
It seems a shame not to mention any wines from this Gimblett Gravels tasting case by name, especially since I scored nine of them at 90pts or above. Top scorer was the Elephant Hill, Hieronymus, Hawke’s
Bay 2018 (94/100). Density, freshness and purity reach their apogee in this authoritative, headturning classic blended from Cabernet Sauvignon with 22% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc, plus a pinch of Malbec. It’s satisfyingly textured, too.
