Reds have ‘no plans’ to recall loan star Harry

Derby Telegraph - - SPORT -

LIVERPOOL have no plans to trigger a recall clause in Harry Wilson’s season-long loan at Derby County, the Derby Telegraph understands.

Rams boss Frank Lampard confirmed on Thursday that the Premier League club has an option to take the 21-year-old Welsh international back when the transfer window opens next month.

Lampard said he was hopeful Wilson would remain at Derby for the rest of the season and he has been delighted with the player’s progress.

“At the minute he’s our player, and of course we want him to stay our player for the course of the season because he is contributing. For me, he is here to progress, and he is progressing well,” said Lampard.

Liverpool are also delighted with how the loan has gone and how Derby, and Lampard, are managing the player.

The idea of the loan was to give Wilson a full season of firstteam experience and a big part of that will be him being part of Derby’s run-in.

He has started 13 of the last 14 matches, and 16 in total this season, and he is top scorer on eight goals.
