YOUR POEMS
ALL FOR THE CHRISTMAS PARTIES by Marilyn Clampitt, of Alvaston
Wish I could walk on high heels but I know I’d fall on my bum Would love to wear some velvet leggings but they would enhance my tum
Might wear that new skirt I recently brought
Oh dear at my age people might think it’s too short
If only I could be that little bit daring
That low-cut top I’d love to be wearing
In the shops Christmas jumpers with sequins on seemed to be all the rage
Wanted a black one but in my size they’d only get it in beige Buying clothes at the moment I never seem to have much luck Really need a new outfit with the annual Christmas parties coming up
So wished I was still young and trim
Most clothes I like were for the ladies who were slim
Not ready yet for twin sets and matronly clothes
Still sticking to black in my choice of hose
Soon with these though I might have to change my mind Hope it won’t be elasticated ones because a varicose vein I recently did find
Well no luck in Derby, looks like a trip over to Nottingham or Burton too
Hopefully there for a mature, well built lady I’ll find something new FEELINGS by Anne Thompson, of Mickleover
I feel sorry.
I feel sad.
I feel grateful.
I feel glad.
I feel gleeful
I feel thoughtful
I feel happy.
I feel soppy .
I am on track.
I feel prosperous.
I feel altogether not too bad .......
