Cash: Our form is a big factor for game

-

NOTTINGHAM Forest midfielder Matty Cash has issued a warning ahead of Monday’s night’s clash with Derby County.

The Rams take on their rivals at Pride Park Stadium next week and go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic last week.

Forest’s 1-0 defeat to Preston North End saw them drop below the Rams in the Sky Bet Championship table – Derby lie in fourth while Forest are seventh.

Last season saw Derby claim a 2-0 win at Pride Park over Forest followed by a goalless draw at the City Ground five months later. Matty Cash

The Rams are unbeaten in their last five matches against Forest, but Cash is looking to reverse the trend.

“We have a much stronger team this year and that feels like a massive factor for us,” Cash told the Nottingham Post.

“The lads were talking about this the other week – our away form has been really good this season. We beat Hull recently and I think away from home we are a brilliant side now.

“This is a derby game, so that is a completely different thing.

“And we know Derby are up there; we know that they are a good side but we also know that we are.

“Hopefully, it will be an exciting game. I know we will be ready for it.

“They are fourth in the League and are going well.

“They look a decent side. They are a good team.

“But if we beat them, we will go above them, which kind of sums up this league. We will be looking to do exactly that.”
