Changes on the buses as festive timetables revealed

ARRIVA, Trent Barton, Yourbus and Kinchbus, which runs the Skylink between Derby and East Midlands Airport, have all released their Christmas timetables.

ARRIVA

Arriva will not be running buses on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. However, there will be a mixture of Saturday and Sunday services for the remaining dates between December 24 and January

1. Normal service will resume for Arriva buses on January 2.

■■Dec 24 – Saturday timetable with last buses at around 6pm.

■■Dec 25 and 26: No buses

■■Dec 27-30: Saturday timetable.

■■Dec 31 – Saturday timetable with last buses at around 6pm.

■■January 1 - No buses.

■■January 2 - Normal service resumes.

TRENT BARTON

There are only two days when no Trent Barton buses will be running at all – that’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Marketing and communications manager Jordan Kemp said: “The services have been designed to keep people moving in the run-up to the big celebrations this season and during the busy time between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.”

■■Dec 24: Monday timetable with last buses at around 6pm.

■■Dec 25: No buses.

■■Dec 26: Sunday timetable, but no Amberline.

■■Dec 27: Saturday timetable until midnight. Indigo and the Red Arrow will run 24 hours.

■■Dec 28: Saturday timetable until midnight. Indigo and the Red Arrow will run 24 hours.

■■Dec 29: Saturday timetable until midnight. Indigo and the Red Arrow will run 24 hours.

■■Dec 30: Sunday timetable.

■■Dec 31: Saturday timetable with last buses at around 8pm, plus night buses until 4am.

■■January 1: No buses.

■■January 2: Normal service.

YOURBUS

Yourbus services will not run on three days over the festive period – Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. And make sure you’ve topped up your payment card before Friday, Dec 21.

The Yourbus office is closing on Friday and will not reopen until January 2.

KINCHBUS

The Skylink will only be totally out of service for two days over the break – that’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Dec 24 – Monday timetable with last buses between 7pm and 8.25pm.

■■Dec 25: No buses.

■■Dec 26: Sunday timetable, first buses from Derby 6.25am and 7.05am.

■■Dec 27-29: Saturday timetable.

■■Dec 30: Sunday timetable.

■■Dec 31: Saturday timetable.

■■January 1: No buses.

■■January 2: Wednesday timetable – except some early morning services. First buses from Derby will run at 6am and 6.25am.
