Cycling sex fiend admits 22 assaults across city
pervert terrorised women on streets for three months
A pervert who terrorised women in Derby has pleaded guilty to carrying out 22 sexual assaults.
Csaba Kiss, of Normanton, committed the attacks in and around the city centre over a period of three months before being caught.
A 35-YEAR-OLD man has confessed to a string of sexual assaults on women in Derby – and one victim was a 13-yearold girl.
Csaba Kiss, of St Chads Road, Normanton, pleaded guilty to carrying out 22 sexual assaults on 22 different women across Derby, mainly in the city centre.
Derby Crown Court heard how the assaults were carried out between the dates of Sunday, July 29, and Sunday, November 4.
Kiss, who comes from Hungary and needed an interpreter during the hearing, went up to each of the women before sexually assaulting them and riding off on a bike.
Dressed in a black patterned Adidas tracksuit top, Kiss stood in the dock.
He spoke to confirm his name and to plead guilty to each charge, which was read out to him one after the other.
The pictures above were released by police at the time of their appeal for witnesses to the incidents.
Judge Jonathan Bennett remanded Kiss in custody and adjourned the case for sentencing.
He said: “You have pleaded guilty to all the counts in this case today. I will give you credit for that.
“I can’t deal with you today, the reason being that I want a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.”
The court heard how Kiss was convicted of attempted murder in Hun- gary in 2008. It was revealed he had been part of a gang that shot a man during a robbery of a cash transit van.
An earlier hearing heard that Kiss moved to the UK from his native country in 2016. The sexual assaults that he has pleaded guilty to took place on the following dates:
■ Leonard Street, on Sunday, July 29;
■ Station Approach, on Wednesday, August 1;
■ King Street, on Sunday, August 19;
■ Cathedral Road, on Friday, August 24;
■ Two assaults, one in Sowter Road and the other in Friary Street, on Thursday, September 13;
■ St Chads Road, on Friday, September 21;
■ Four sexual assaults on Friday, September 28;
■ Osmaston Road, on Friday, October 5;
■ Three sexual assaults on Saturday, October 13;
■ One on Tuesday, October 16;
■ Six assaults on Sunday, November 4. They took place in Agard Street, Willow Row, Green Lane, Lodge Lane, Bridge Street and Mercian Way.
Kiss is next due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Monday, January 14.
