Sixty years of building for a nation

-

With last year marking the 60th anniversary of Barratt Homes, a recent survey has revealed 28% of people in Derbyshire say that they associate the well-known brand with being a long standing British business. Other qualities attributed to the brand included them being a five star builder, value for money and being reliable. Ensuring confidence to its buyers across the country, the national housebuilder has built more than 450,000 homes over the last six decades and is the only developer to have been given the maximum five star rating in the HBF survey for nine years running. Barratt was founded by Sir Lawrie Barratt back in 1958 and it has rapidly grown to become the UK’s largest housebuilder, building more than 17,500 homes last year. Chris Southgate, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands said: “As we recently celebrated our 60th anniversary, 2018 was a really special year for us so we decided to conduct this survey to see what people associated our brand with. “It’s incredible to think that we have helped so many families across Derbyshire and throughout the country. We’re looking forward to continuing to build many more five star homes over the next 60 years.” Barratt Homes North Midlands is currently building homes at Highfields in Littleover and Barratt Homes at Mickleover.
