Council ‘treating Rams fans ‘like children in bridge safety response

Season ticket holder Karl Shaw says the council’s response was childish accident before action is taken.

He said: “I just thought it was rather poor from the council given a number of fans had raised real concern. There were people spilling on to the road because of the sheer volume of people using it at the same time. The city council are treating us like schoolchildren.

“Most of us are grown adults and for them to make a remark like that, it is not actioning it at all. Cars travel at a fast pace as well on that road – would the council tell them to slow down?

“I was angry because there was still no answer on what is happening with the bridge and nobody has still answered the question whether that bridge is acceptably safe for having that amount of people walking across it.”
