BACK for a new series, this revived soapy drama is as comforting as an old pair of slippers. You might enjoy it mostly out of nostalgia, but we’ve come to love the characters and it has a cracking cast.
As this kicks off, they prepare for a wedding. Adam (James Nesbitt), Pete (John Thomson), David (Robert Bathurst), Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Karen (Hermione Norris) all look like they could potentially be the bride or groom getting hitched. But who is actually walking down the aisle? It’s a neat little trick to reel us in.
Meanwhile, Jenny and Pete just can’t get enough of each other, until some unexpected news sends poor Jenny into a tailspin.
