‘As time went on you became more and more bold’

-

JAILING Kiss for three years and nine months, Judge Nirmal Shant QC said: “These offences were a spate of predatory sex assaults on lone females between July and November of last year.

“I have no doubt, as time went on and you were not detected, you became more and more bold.

“On one day alone – September 28 – you carried out four attacks and on November 4 you carried out six attacks.

“It does not do this case justice to describe you a sex pest because that will trivialise what you did.

“This was not a case which involves a fleeting touch of their bottoms. These were forceful grabs, the sort of which in a way one witness said he would not touch his partner.

“In each case the victims have described the effect what you did to them has had in negative ways.

“You say you can’t why you did this. You stopped because you were detected and I have no doubt you got a sexual thrill from what you did.”

Speaking after sentencing, Det Con Ryan Hockley, who led the investigation, thanked the victims and the public for helping him and his team crack the case.

He said: “I would firstly like to praise the bravery of the victims, all of whom were prepared to come to court and give evidence should Kiss not have pleaded guilty and taken the case to trial.

“They provided excellent evidence which has enabled us to secure this conviction.

“The public were absolutely central into helping us catch this offender with the information they were able to give us. As part of the investigation we handed out 10,000 leaflets in different languages in Derby city centre and we also had to view more than 700 hours of CCTV.

“I am delighted with the sentence and can assure people that he will never be on the streets of Derby again. He will be deported after he is released and will return to Hungary to serve another two years of a sentence there he was on licence for, for robbery.

“He will be banned from entering the UK as part of that deportation.”
