Answers to assertions on climate change

-

OH dear. I’ve ruffled the feathers of a member of the apocalyptic climate cult.

My letter deals with the green movement who receive tens of millions of euros to promote the political policies of the EU.

To answer Janice Walker’s remarks on toxic blood (“The climate change deniers must get real”, August 8) this is an indication of the amount of gases that have been inhaled during the ride to school. She is complaining that these gases have given her asthma. Accordingly, then, to her reckoning asthma came about in 1984 when the diesel engine came on the market.

Next. The increase in crop yield is worldwide and I am surprised that she does not know that the cause of the Somerset level was not dredging the rivers and turning off the pumps. Further she passes over the last 200 years as irrelevant. Yet that was the start of the industrialisation of Europe and the backbone of the green movement’s argument.

Can she explain why the Antarctic ice cap has recorded an increase in area over the last five years? Japan has 20 active volcanoes, one of which has been active every day for the last 60 years. Is this then irrelevant in her calculation?

Now there is a movement demanding the slaughter of all meat animals in our food chain because they are one of the reasons for climate change and turn us all into vegetarians.

Well I never. Are there enough nuts in the world for all of us?

There is such a thing as the carbon cycle. All pasture produces both CO2 and methane. Grasslands with or without cows produces the same amounts. Dare they touch the number of animals that roam in Africa? They are passing wind as well. Global warming has proved to be false information, that is why they now use climate change.

Who has their heads in the sand? Frank Leeming, Derby
