Blood on hospital bed shows ‘lack of resources’ says patient
A DERBY woman has told of her sadness at the state of the NHS after finding someone else’s dried blood on her hospital bed.
The 23-year-old, who did not wish to be named, said she had been admitted to the Royal Derby Hospital after becoming unwell with a recurring health problem.

She said: “I felt really sick when I saw it, it’s not very nice. But I don’t want to criticise the NHS. It was to highlight the lack of resources they’ve got.

Sharon Martin, Chief Operating Officer at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton said: “Our emergency departments are busier than ever before and our staff are doing an exceptional job to ensure patients are kept safe and well cared for while receiving treatment.
