NEW luxury apartments in Derby city centre have now been put on the market and the Derby Telegraph has been given a guided tour.

The first phase of around 20 apartments are now available to buy at the new Kings Crescent development, in King Street, next to the historic St Helen’s House and opposite the Seven Stars pub.

Its website says that is “the most breathtaking new residential building in Derby for decades”.

The building is four-storeys high and features studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Prices start at £125,000. Penthouse suites are being marketed for around £280,000.

The development will also have an underground car park for around 30 vehicles.

The building’s façade is set to transform the view for those heading into Derby city centre.

Architectural inspiration came from the celebrated Georgian crescents that can be seen to this day in Bath and Buxton.

So far, more than half-a-dozen apartments have been sold, as well as one of three penthouses which offer skyline views of the city centre.

Stuart Bennett is a director of Grace Construction, the company building the apartment complex.

He said: “I am delighted with how it is all coming along. It’s been hard work but very enjoyable.

“These are high quality apartments in Derby city centre. I get a lot of people saying they are looking for apartments in Derby but can’t find homes of real quality.

“This is an aesthetically pleasing development which will transform Derby’s living offer. I’ve been involved from day one and the reason is because I wanted to show what Derby can offer when you get things right.

“We’ve already sold seven apartments mainly to women professionals and those looking to buy for investments. I think people see the quality of the apartments and the potential here.”

An open day allowing people to see the development in front of their own eyes will be taking place on Saturday, March 7 between 11am and 2pm. For more information call 01332 300558.
