Neighbours join clap in tribute as Lynn lost to virus
HUSBAND LEADS PROCESSION FOR NHS WORKER, 61
THE love that was in the air was palpable. Around 200 people came out of their homes on Thursday to clap the funeral cortege of Lynn Talbot as it passed along the road where her family are known to many.
The Talbots used to live in the road before moving around the corner.
NHS worker Lynn, 61, died from coronavirus at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital on May 15.
Her husband Nick, showing remarkable fortitude, was accompanied by an undertaker as he led the cortege on its way to Lynn’s funeral at Bretby Crematorium.
Mr Talbot, 59, a warehouse manager, acknowledged the applause as the hearse slowly proceeded up Malvern Street in Stapenhill.
So many people seem to have known Lynn, it seems the love she showed to family, friends and colleagues touched the whole of the community.
Fay Peach, of Britannia Drive, Stretton, knows the family and was there with her children.
Helen Dodwell, of Bretby on the Hill estate, Newhall, used to live just off Malvern Street and had known Lynn for many years, attending her wedding at
Stanton in 1985.
One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said simply: “She will be missed.”
On a beautiful, sunny day, an amazing woman, talented in so many different ways, made her final journey, with her beloved Nick leading the way.
Covid-19 cruelly took her from her family. But it was clear that she will always be in their hearts.
