She Was Born Under Taurus
by Julie Wigley, of Littleover
She was born under Taurus Her destiny mapped in the stars Private jets and grand houses and sleek chauffeur-driven cars A privileged life, from the time of her birth
All the comforts and fine things desired by those ruled
By a sign of the Earth
She was born under Taurus Reliable, faithful and true
A dutiful daughter with the job of a lifetime to do
Like a duckling to water, she stepped into his shoes Through the best and the worst times, always waving not drowning In a sea of red, white and blue But does she sometimes dream, of how life might have been
As a party princess or a carnival queen
By royal appointment, monarch for only one day
Instead of the queen of all England
She was born under Taurus Well, just on the cusp, some would say
And no doubt there are days when she’d rather be queen of the May When a sceptre and crown seem so heavy to bear
Oh to have a wild posy and daisy chain circlets
To weave through her hair
Some, they might fall by the wayside,
Others crack under the strain But she was born under Taurus, empowered by earth’s elements, long would she reign
