Motorists guilty of road offences

THE following motorists were punished for driving offences by Southern Derbyshire Magistrate­s’ Court or by North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrate­s’ Court.

■Ian Spencer, 44, of Duffield Road, Darley Abbey, was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £122 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 48 months for drink-driving in Mansfield Road, Derby, on January

24. He had 119 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■Joshua Stables, 19, of Newhall Road, Brampton, was handed an 18-month community order, with 160 hours unpaid work, ordered to pay £85 costs and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 15 months for dangerous driving in Derby Road, Wingerwort­h, on February 14 and for driving while disqualifi­ed and without insurance in Newhall Road, Chesterfie­ld, on April 18.

■Daniel Heald, 32, of Castle Drive, Somercotes, was fined £660 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £66 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points for driving without insurance and a valid licence on the A608 in Langley Mill on May 10.

■Daniel Leach, 28, of St Thomas Road, Normanton, was fined £660 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £66 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six points for driving without insurance in Haslams Road, Derby, on April 16.

■Ryan Chapman, 30, of Risley Court, Ilkeston, was handed a 12-month community order and was fined £50 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £90 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for three years for driving while over the legal limit for cocaine in Derby Road, Langley Mill, on October 1, 2019.

■Aiden Hill, 18, of no fixed address, was fined £60 and was ordered to pay £42 costs, a £22 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for six months for driving while disqualifi­ed and without insurance in Cardinshaw Road, Matlock, on May 12.

■Nicholas Acton, 38, of Humbleton Drive, Mackworth, was fined £200 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three points for driving with an illegal tyre in Mayfair Crescent, Mackworth, on January 17.

■Joshua Dakin, 30, of Snitterton Road, Snitterton, Matlock, was fined £425 and was ordered to pay £310 costs, a £42 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 16 weeks for failing to provide a sample of breath for analysis when requested in Chesterfie­ld on October 14.
