Drink-drivers disqualifi­ed

THAMSANQA Nxumalo, 24, of Craig Gardens, Leicester, was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for three years for drink-driving in Nottingham Road, Chaddesden, on May 17. A test saw him blow a reading of 67 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■Christophe­r Smith, 29, of Elliott Durham Close, Mapperley, Nottingham, was handed a 12-month community order, with an eight-week curfew and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £90 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for two years for drink-driving in Derby Road, Ripley, on February 28. A test saw him blow a reading of 98 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■Maksims Bobirs, 31, of Woods Lane, Derby, was handed a two-year community order, with 160 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £95 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for two years for drink-driving in Bateman Street, Derby, on June 7. A test saw him blow a reading of 108 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■Leeroy Johnstone, 19, of Tutbury Road, Burton, was jailed for 16 weeks, ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 38 months for drink-driving, driving while disqualifi­ed and without insurance on the A38 at Kingsway, Derby, on September 4. A test saw him blow a reading of 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■Paul Knight, 50, of Hall Road, Langley Mill, was handed a 12-month community order, with 60 hours of unpaid work, and was ordered to pay £620 costs, a £90 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for two years for drink-driving and for driving without insurance in Weston Spot Close, Ripley, on August 23. A test saw him blow a reading of 97 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■ ■Mark Stewart, 59, of Waterbridg­e Road, Stapenhill, Burton, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 20 months for drink-driving in Horninglow Road North, Burton, on August 8. A test saw him blow a reading of 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.
