Honey Pot is handed over to new owners as family firm plans nursery expansion

-

CHILDREN 1st Day Nurseries has successfully completed the purchase of The Honey Pot Nursery in Breadsall.

The UK’s largest family owned and managed nursery group now has 24 settings across the Midlands and South Yorkshire. The nursery will remain fully open to all existing children and new jobs will be created at the Hill Top facility.

As well as this investment in staff, Children 1st also plans a significant programme of refurbishment to enhance the learning environments, outside areas and facilities at the setting.

Over the last six years the company has invested significantly into its nurseries developing unique and innovative spaces in which children learn, develop and grow.

The Honey Pot will change its name to become Children 1st @ Oakwood. Over time, the current nursery premises will be extended into the adjoining property on the site and fully refurbished to create a dynamic learning environment for children in Derby aged six weeks to five years. The refurbishment will also increase the number of places available.

Each age group will have its own dedicated colourful and exciting rooms designed to promote independent learning and stimulate curiosity whilst also providing areas for quiet times and relaxing. There will also be a dedicated baby suite, where little ones will have their own completely separate indoor and outdoor space, giving them the room they need to explore their world with growing confidence.

The setting benefits from having mature gardens with a large outdoor space and has an emphasis on outdoor learning. .

Children 1st Day Nurseries’

managing director Adrian Mason said: We are confident the new Children 1st @ Oakwood will be a hugely positive development for existing and future families as well as the local community.”

Suzanne Miskow, owner of The Honey Pot Nursery, said: We are really pleased the nursery will be taken over by a family run business that will take the setting forward for future generations of children to enjoy.”

“We have thoroughly enjoyed running the nursery and would like to thank all families past and present for their support over the years.”
