Hell on high water
Two teams of celebs undertake gruelling challenge to row the length of Britain
DON’T ROCK THE BOAT
ITV, 9pm
WANT to see a celebrity puking in a bucket or weeping as they leap over a cliff? You’re in luck!
This brand new TV challenge show, on every night this week, sees 12 celebrities join a race to row the length of Britain.
Divided into two teams, they will face a battle on sea and compete in terrifying land challenges, while presenters Freddie Flintoff and AJ Odudu watch smugly from the side.
There is an I’m A Celebrity feel about this show, with lots of voiceover yelling about them being ‘pushed to the limit’.
On each leg of the race, there are chances to win treats – this time the winners get to sleep in a posh hotel, while the losers are in tents.
Embarking on the adventure are politician Tom Watson, Olympic gold medalist Denise Lewis OBE, supermodel Jodie Kidd, actor Craig Charles, popstar Fleur East, YouTuber Joe Weller, Love Island winner Jack Fincham, Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon, Olympic and World Champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton CBE, The Chase’s Shaun Wallace, actor Adam Thomas and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt.
A 650-mile row is a colossal undertaking that requires training and commitment.
The sea sickness floors some of them straight away as they tackle the 90 miles of the first leg.
Some of the team remain on land for this stretch, but have to race face-first down a 170ft cliff to o secure the luxury stay for their team.
As they all put their, er, oar into it, banter and excitement soon gives way to panic...
