19 face court after major drug operation

NINETEEN men have appeared in court in Derby to enter pleas after a major police drug operation.

Some pleaded guilty but others denied the charges and their cases will be heard in three separate trials next year.

Each defendant appeared over video link at Derby Crown Court and they were split into four hearings to cover all defendants.

The offences were included on an indictment of six counts and each man had their respective charges read to them during the hearings and was then given the chance to enter a plea.

All the cases were adjourned. A case management hearing will take place on January 29, with trials set to take place from July 5 for those who pleaded not guilty.

John Castledine, 62, of Harrington Street, Normanton, Derby: not guilty.

Joseph Davidson aged 40, of Browning Street, Sunnyhill, Derby: guilty.

Nathaniel Collymore, 38, Underhill Close, Derby: guilty.

Narinderpa­l Sahota, 38, Village Street, Derby: not guilty.

Basharat Iqbal, 45, of Cromwell Road, Derby: not guilty.

Manveer Khakh, 32, of Harpur Avenue, Littleover: not guilty.

Michael Karim, aged 35, of The Arfena, Standard Hill, Nottingham: no plea given but recorded as not of guilty.

Paldip Mahngar, 44, of Willow Close, Derby: not guilty.

Ranjit Sandhu, 48, of Carrington Street, Derby, not guilty.

Kelly Williamson, 56, of Mansfield Road, Papplewick, Nottingham: not guilty.

Mohammed Shafiq, 37, of Stenson Road, Littleover: not guilty.
