If the benefits of the vaccine are overrated now is the time to declare it, if only to stop Ursula von der Leyen from hyperventi­lating.

Someone needs to tell Boris that even if lockdown has hitherto been the saviour it neverthele­ss must end very soon.

Lockdowns are like tourniquet­s; if not released soon enough they inflict more harm than good and it’s about time the press briefings took that into account.
