Concerns about the Human Rights Act

-

WHEN Tony Blair brought in the European Union’s Human Rights Act, he stated it was needed to protect the British people’s human rights, even though English common law had done this for 800 years.

Since this Act, the number of asylum seekers not sent back to their countries of origin has increased greatly.

An immigration officer just has to ask the question, “Are your human rights threatened in your country of origin?” for an illegal immigrant to answer “Yes”, or it becomes a court case using British taxpayers’ money.

This means drug barons from Colombia who fear death from other drug gang criminals flee to Britain and are given leave to stay due to the terms of the Human Rights Act.

This country cannot deport anyone, no matter how vile, where their individual rights might be violated.

This Act now needs to be repealed by this Government to discourage the illegal entry of so many people.

When this Act stops people being deported, it just encourages more young men to come here, which wastes more money on high-class hotel accommodation, lawyers’ fees, social workers, etc.
