Elderly man in hospital after city attack
A MAN in his 80s has been taken to hospital following an assault in Derby city centre.
Police say he was attacked during an argument with a group of youths near Derby bus station, around the Morledge area.
It happened shortly after a dispute in the Eagle Market at about 4.30pm on Thursday.
No further details have been released regarding the victim’s condition nor any descriptions of the attackers. A police spokesperson urged any witnesses to come forward as soon as possible.
They said: “Our investigation into the incident is in its early stages but we want to hear from anyone who saw what happened. Did you see the alleged assault? Do you have any information that could help?”
