Find the golden ticket and win free fish and chips for life* from top chippy chain

-

IT’S one of Britain’s favourite takeaways – freshly fried chips and golden battered fish.

Now a fish and chip shop with branches across the region is about to make dreams come true for a lucky customer at each of its four outlets.

To celebrate National Fish and Chip Day on June 4, the Cod’s Scallops is launching a golden ticket competition.

The food lover who finds the ticket at the bottom of their takeaway box will win a lifetime’s supply of free fish and chips.

*When they say for life, there’s a cap on it after 30 years – but that’s still one heck of a giveaway.

There will be four winners in all – one at each of the chip shops in Long Eaton, Carrington and Wollaton in Nottingham, and Market Harborough in Leicestershire.

They will win a mini-fish and chips worth £5 every week – a prize worth £7,800 – from the shop where they bought their takeaway.

Owner John Molnar, the Willy Wonka of fish and chip shops, said: “We wanted to do something to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day and something that would get people’s attention.

“Last year it was lockdown and we are still the number one in the UK so we wanted to do something to push fish and chips, and what better than for someone to be able to enjoy Britain’s best dish for the rest of their life.”

To prevent the golden ticket getting covered in vinegar and ketchup it will be protected by layers of greaseproof paper.

Winners need to contact the chippy when they find it so they can be set up on the system with their prize.
