Trespass alert to those trying to spy on set of Mission: Impossible film

CONCERNS have been raised over the possibility of trespassers on the Derbyshire set of Mission: Impossible 7.

A furious Tom Cruise called security after intruders got onto the set in Yorkshire where he is currently shooting scenes for the next instalment of the movie franchise.

This comes just a few days after daredevils were reported parachuting off the site in Darlton Quarry, Stoney Middleton, which is also to be used to film a dramatic stunt for the film.

The Derbyshire set has generated much interest from residents and visitors alike, with many wandering up to the quarry on Middleton Lane to try and get a look at some Hollywood magic.

One resident said: “I’ve seen no end of people walking up there to have a snoop around and see what’s going on.

“So far I doubt they’ve seen much.” The set is a dangerous place for members of the public to be wandering into unsupervised, as there is a huge, unguarded drop into the quarry where the section of railway leads.

At night, there is minimal lighting, so trespassers would be at risk of losing their footing on the rocky surface.

Mission: Impossible 7’s production company, Jupiter Springs Productions, have arranged for tight security in the area, with the entrance remaining closed to anyone without proper authorisation.

Security guards are also monitoring the site all day and have been quick to question those loitering around the entrance for too long.

While Cruise has been filming in Levisham, Yorkshire, the nature of the location has led to some problems.

A group of trespassers reportedly invaded while filming was ongoing, much to the stars’ anger.

A film insider told The Sun: “The set is so large and open that it has been impossible to close it all off.

“So, trespassers have been getting in and attempting to scale the rigs and equipment set up for the

stunts.

“It is a health and safety nightmare. Police were called to one incident last week and then Tom was forced to take action when it happened again.” This was the latest disruption caused to the shoot, after coronavirus caused the movie to delay its release by ten months to May 2022.

I’ve seen no end of people walking up there to have a snoop around and see what’s going on.
