High time damaged pavement was fixed
HAVING waited nearly two weeks for a response from the council concerning the resurfacing of St Chad’s Road, I think it’s now time our local journalists had a go at holding our strategic directors, councillors and decision makers to account.
Just what has happened to the need to reduce the pollution in this city (painting a yellow stripe on a black taxi hardly qualifies, now does it).
My elderly neighbour has been requesting a resurfacing of pavements for a good three years now. His fall a few years ago was a direct result of a damaged pavement and the selfishness of a driver parking on a double yellow line on a corner while popping into a shop.
There has to be a change in emphasis, away from cars, for the good of all people.
Many people may think mass extinction (climate change) is in full swing, it’s never too late to think of a greater good rather than pandering to the lowest common denominator.
