Hunk Brett’s Love Island adventure comes to end
DERBYSHIRE hunk Brett Staniland and Priya Gopoldas were eliminated from Love Island after receiving the fewest public votes.
The couple’s downfall began on Sunday evening’s show when Priya told the other girls she found Brett, from Draycott, boring.
Perhaps the final nail was that he gave her what she dubbed “the ick”.
Priya told Liberty Poole and Kaz Kamwi: “I feel his energy is below mine and it’s quite draining. It’s sucking the fun out of me.”
Talking about him and Priya’s latest date, Brett told Faye Winter and Teddy Soares: “It was great. It was the first time we’ve sat alone opposite each other since we had our first ever day so this was lovely.”
Gossip about Brett and Priya’s relationship soon began to swirl among the couples. Unfortunately, Brett was the last one in the loop that he and Priya were in trouble. In their last instalment of the reality show, Priya told the other girls he reminded her of her dad when holding hands.
Brett, who entered the villa less than a week ago, was left hurt by Priya withholding her feelings from him while sharing them with the rest.
It was up to the boys to break the news to Brett about what had been said at dinner the night before. Aaron Simpson said: “The way it’s coming across, I don’t know if there’s any salvaging it.”
The PhD student confronted Priya about the gossip, saying: “Do you not think it is worse saying it in front of them and me finding out?
“By the time I knew, every single one of the girls knew, every single one of the guys knew, and you didn’t even know I knew.”
Brett still thought that there was hope for the couple, even betting his jacket with Teddy. Priya had other plans. She said: “After today, I feel like I’m still feeling the same as I did after the date and its really unfortunate because I literally thought that this was perfect.
“I just feel like there’s just something that is missing and maybe I’m just the kind of person that just wants more fun.”
The relationship finished with a hug and a selfie as Brett told Priya: “Perhaps I’ve miscommunicated some of the things that I’m into.”
