Murder probe as Josh, 22, dies after ‘stabbing’
POLICE SAY PEOPLE FILMED FATAL INCIDENT ON THEIR PHONES
POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a 22-year-old man died following an alleged stabbing in Derby.
Josh Carter, from the city, was one of two people left seriously injured in Cheapside in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police yesterday confirmed that he died on Monday.
A 16-year-old has been charged in connection with the incident and detectives now want to hear from people believed to have been filming it on their mobile phones.

Josh Carter was one of two people left seriously injured after an incident in Cheapside in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Derby man was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was pronounced dead at 4pm on Monday.
A 17-year-old boy who was also taken to hospital following the incident remains there with lifechanging injuries.
In a statement released yesterday, Derbyshire police confirmed their enquiries have now become a murder investigation.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in court on Monday, August 16, charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident.
He was also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to the 17-year-old and possession of knife in a public place.
He was remanded into custody ahead of a hearing at Derby Crown Court on September 13.
Detective Chief Inspector Sally Blaiklock, who is leading the team investigating the incident, said: “Firstly I want to express my condolences on behalf of the force to the family and friends of Josh.
“The incident that took place over the weekend has understandably shocked the community and I would urge anyone with information to come forward and help the officers investigating the death of Josh, along with the serious injuries suffered by the other victim.
“From footage that has already been reviewed by the team, it is clear a number of people were using their phones to record both the incident and the moments leading up to it.
“I would ask that anyone with footage that can assist in our enquiries pass it to the force, which you can do in confidence.
“I would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that may be able to assist, to come forward.
“The family ask for their privacy to be respected at this time.”
