Free shuttle bus to Ashbourne Show

-

A BUS timetable has been announced for a free shuttle service that takes people to and from Osmaston Polo Ground for Ashbourne Show, which takes place on Saturday.

The annual service is returning this year, run by Slacks, and show-goers can start jumping on the first bus from 9.30am.

Starting at Waterside Park, the bus will make its way from the retail park to a second collection point at the bus station in King Edward Street, arriving around 9.40am, before heading to a third collection point at the top of Derby Road by 9.45pm.

The next stop-off will be at Preston’s Garage at around 9.50pm and the bus is set to arrive at Quillow Farm, the drop-off point adjacent to the showground, by 10am.

An hourly service will run throughout up to 12.30pm, repeating the route, and the next buses will then leave Waterside Park at 2.10pm and 3.10pm.

Return journeys begin at 10am and end at 3.40pm. All times are dependent on local traffic.

The show this year will mark a welcome return to normality for the Ashbourne Shire Horse Society, which has said they aim to make it feel as normal as possible.

Thousands of people are expected to arrive on the polo ground to enjoy perusing the various stalls and stands, and to watch the classes and competitions throughout the day.

Main ring entertainment includes the Red Barrows Display Team and motorcycle stunt rider Jamie Squibb.
