Picture plea after robbery

-

POLICE have released an image of a man they want to speak to as part of an investigation into a robbery.

Police say the incident, which took place at 11.30pm on July 14, saw a taxi driver pick up a fare in Derby.

Officers say three men got into the back of the taxi and asked the driver to take them to Meadow Lane, in Alvaston. It is claimed that after parking up in Meadow Lane, one of the men produced a knife and threatened him, taking the keys from the ignition.

The men then took the taxi and left the driver in Meadow Lane. The vehicle was found abandoned in Swinburne Street, Rose Hill.

Two men were arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and have been questioned and released under investigation.

Now police say officers want to speak to the man pictured in case he has information which can help with their enquiries. Anyone who knows him is asked to call 101. People can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
