Garner is set to return to Forest

-

MANCHESTER United’s James Garner was a player on Derby County’s radar.

The 20-year-old midfielder is closing in on a loan move to Nottingham Forest, where he played last season.

Derby continue to operate under a transfer embargo meaning they are currently unable to bring in more new signings.

The embargo was relaxed to allow the Rams to add Curtis Davies, Richard Stearman, Ryan Allsop and Ravel Morrison to their squad and they received special dispensation to bring in Phil

Jagielka and Sam Baldock due to long-term injuries to Colin KazimRichards and Krystian Bielik.

Any future signings, as things stand, can only be free agents or players on six-month loans and restricted wages.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at his press conference yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s game against Southampton: “I would definitely think Jimmy will go on loan, that’s more or less done.

“He’s done really well in pre-season and really impressed me.”
