Omari set to play it again
WINGER Omari Patrick has not scored in the four matches in which he has been asked to play as a striker because of Burton Albion’s injury list.
But manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who has been urging him on almost constantly from the touchline, is happy with the big contribution Patrick has made and it seems likely he will continue today against Cambridge United.
“I think Omari deserves to play. What he has given the team so far, he deserves to start,” said the manager.
While Kane Hemmings, Jacob Maddox and Louis Moult remain unavailable through injury, new signing Aaron Amadi-Holloway made a late appearance as a substitute in the midweek win against Sunderland and offers Hasselbaink an option – though the manager thinks Amadi-Holloway could use his strength more.
“Aaron has now had a week of full training, he’s getting stronger and stronger and he’ll be on the bench,” said the Dutchman.
“He’s a big, strong boy and he could play his size more.
“He has really good feet and we’re trying to get him a little bit more aggressive, in the right way. He’s a unit.”
