Premature birth test

PREMATURE birth could be predicted from as early as 10 weeks of pregnancy by testing for specific chemicals and bacteria. About 60,000 babies are born prematurely in the UK each year. Reasons for premature birth can be unclear, making it hard for doctors to predict and prevent. But the charity Tommy’s is working on a new test that could help predict premature birth much earlier than has been possible before.
