Wheeldon stretches standings lead

A MAN of the match performanc­e for Sandiacre Town has strengthen­ed Dan Wheeldon’s lead at the top of the Derbyshire Premier Division Player of the Year standings.

Ticknall’s Paul Borrington took a point to stay in second place, while Ockbrook & Borrowash’s Josh Lacey moved up to fourth.

Although this was the 19th week of the season, only five of the division’s 12 clubs have not got extra games to rearrange.

Umpires at each game award three, two and one points to players deemed most influentia­l, with a £250 first prize awaiting the overall winner, £100 for second and £50 for third in the Finance Advice Centre-sponsored competitio­n.
