Reid back in Solheim Cup team
MEL Reid will be part of Europe’s defence of golf’s Solheim Cup after earning one of captain Catriona Matthew’s picks.
The 17th edition of the biennial competition will be played at the Inverness Club in Ohio, USA, from September 4-6 and Reid has been selected to play for the fourth time.
She was a non-playing vicecaptain as Europe memorably won the trophy back at Gleneagles in 2019 and is delighted to be back in the team.
“I’m not shy when I speak about how much the Solheim Cup means to me, so to be back on that team again means the world,” said the 33-year-old from Derby.
“I think the team is looking strong and I’m already excited to see everyone in just over a week!”
Reid won her first title on the LPGA Tour last year to signal her playing renaissance and represented Team GB at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
