15-year-old girl in court accused of terror offences
TEENAGER IS CHARGED WITH POSSESSING INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE BOMBS AND GUNS
A DERBYSHIRE schoolgirl has been accused of possessing a bomb-making video and instructions on how to make a gun using a 3D printer.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with five counts of possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism on dates in August and September, last year.
It is claimed that as well as possessing a bomb-making video, she was also found to have digital documents named Improvised Munitions Handbook, Expedient Homemade Firearms, Kitchen Improvised Fertiliser Explosives and Making Plastic Explosives From Bleach.
She is also charged with one count of possessing an article in circumstances which give rise to a reasonable suspicion that it was for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism on August 22, last year.
It is alleged this was a zip file that contained instructions on how to make a firearm at home using a 3D printer.
The case had been scheduled to be heard as a four-day trial at Nottingham Youth Court yesterday.
However, the case was adjourned at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, with a trial now set to take place later this year.
The next hearing in the case will take place on October 18 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where a trial date will be fixed.
