Horvath impresses ahead of Reds’ trip for Pride Park clash

-

NOTTINGHAM Forest boss Chris Hughton may consider a major selection change for his side’s trip to face Derby County on Saturday.

The Reds are yet to pick up a point in the Championship after losses against Coventry City, Bournemouth, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.

And Forest were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, losing 4-0 at home against Wolves.

One factor in Forest’s poor form has been Brice Samba’s performances as Reds keeper.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper has been partially at fault for a number of the goals conceded by Forest.

And the Congolese keeper’s recent decline in form has therefore left Hughton with a selection dilemma. Summer signing Ethan Horvath played in a much-changed Forest side against Wolves and, despite the final scoreline, the keeper was one of the Reds’ better performers on the night. Hughton told the Nottingham Post after the defeat by Wolves: “I am seeing some good competition from Ethan (Horvath) – from both games he has played and in training.

“That’s exactly why I brought him in.

“We had to rely on Ethan to pull out some good saves – he was excellent tonight.”
