Women held over alleged drug-driving

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after allegedly travelling back from the south-west under the influence of Class A drugs.

The 26-year-old, from Alfreton, was stopped by officers on Wednesday afternoon at Junction 28 of the M1, after they were given reason to believe she was driving under the influence.

The woman tested positive in a roadside drug test and was arrested. She provided a sample of blood in custody and this will be sent for analysis. She has been released under investigation.

This week traffic officers will be targeting and educating irresponsible and dangerous drivers in a bid to reduce fatal and serious collisions, as part of a week-long national campaign.
