-

A CO-OP store in a Derbyshire village has a new look after undergoing a major revamp worth more than £103,000.

The Central England Co-op branch in Overseal, near Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, has been given a makeover in recent weeks.

A spokesman for the Burton Road store said it had undergone a “raft of updates to give it a fresher, lighter feel and to include several new ranges”.

The refurbishment includes an extended refrigeration section with a large range of chilled beers and wine.

There is an improved “food to go” section with new features such as a new Tango Ice Blast machine, Rollover hot dogs and Chicago Town pizzas to take away, and there is also new internal signage and decoration.

Store manager Kim Grice said: “The whole team are really excited about the improvements to the store and have been eagerly awaiting it all being finished so we can showcase the transformation to our local community.

“The feedback to the changes so far has been really positive from our customers.”
