PM’s pragmatism is example to others

EVEN though I was a big fan of George W Bush and Tony Blair going to war with the Taliban after the New York bombing of the World Trade Centre, the world has changed since then.

America lost all of its strength and might thanks to Obama and at the same time Russia and China did the opposite. So fair play once again Boris Johnson for offering to or maybe even actually speaking to

the Taliban or even offer incentives to get British nationals out of Afghanistan.

I for one pray that this pragmatic approach works because nothing is worse than seeing families displaced and lives destroyed just for a game of chicken or war.

By all means let us roll out the red carpet for Afghan refugees but at the same time spare a thought for the lives of British nationals needlessly lost in the past before sparking what could so easily turn into a fresh Cold War that the West would lose hands down.
