Don’t begrudge these innocent families
NO room at the inn? Where is Derby’s compassion? Yes, it is a minor inconvenience not to be able to use the Midland Hotel, but there are plenty of other places to stay in Derby.
Put yourself for a moment in the shoes of people fleeing from terrible danger in their own country, hoping for safety.
Haven’t you seen what’s happening to people in Afghanistan? People who supported UK and US agencies there? The same hideous things are happening in other places too.
The Midland must be better than some heartless detention centre. It’s not illegal to claim asylum.
Have a heart and don’t begrudge innocent families who have nothing.
