Comedy icon Steve Martin, inset, plays fading TV star, Charles, who spends his week looking forward to the next episode of his favourite true crime podcast. Little does he know that two of his neighbours, Mabel (Selena Gomez) and out-of-work Broadway director Oliver (Martin Short) – are addicted to the same show.

When an alarm in the building forces them all into the restaurant across the road, they discover their shared obsession – and when they hear that the disruption is due to a suicide, the mismatched trio is convinced this should be a murder enquiry. They’re sure they can find important evidence.

And the results might even provide material for a new podcast…
