City centre ‘knife attack’ victim died from stab wound to the neck

A YOUNG Derby man died after being stabbed in the neck in an alleged attack, an inquest has heard.

Josh Carter, was left seriously injured after an alleged incident in Cheapside, Derby city centre, in the early hours of Saturday, August 14.

The 22-year-old, who was from Mackworth, was rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was sadly pronounced dead at 4pm on Monday, August 16.

The incident also left a 17-yearold boy with life-changing injuries.

An inquest into Mr Carter’s death was opened at Derby Coroners’ Court on Tuesday by assistant coroner Julie Mitchell.

Ms Mitchell said a post-mortem following his death had given a medical cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.
