Peak District a top spot for dogs

-

THE Peak District has been named among the top ten places to take a staycation with your dog.

Alongside the likes of the Lake District, Dorset and Devon, the Peak District National Park has been ranked seventh in the Millets chart.

As well as the rolling hills, towns and villages the area has to offer, Millets said: “Perfect for those who are looking to take on the outdoors, the Peak District is a fantastic base for your camping trips. We’re talking toasted marshmallows, stories around the campfire and stunning views – all whilst spending time with your best friend.”

The national park was beaten by locations including the Lake District, Devon, Cornwall and, topping the list, Hornsea. The judges gave the crown to the east coast town saying: “Hornsea hosts many dog-friendly beaches that are spotless and sensational.

“This, alongside a variety of dog-friendly cafes and pubs, means that you are guaranteed to enjoy a great weekend away full of sandy paws, pints overlooking the sea and quaint beach shops.”
