Young man is named as victim of car crash

A MAN has died following a car crash in Derbyshire.

Lewis Diedrick, aged 20, who was thought to have been a passenger in the vehicle, was killed in the incident.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to a track off Stenson Fields near Stenson Fields Farm, on Sunday.

Police attended the scene, along with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the air ambulance. The incident involved one vehicle.

A spokespers­on from Derbyshire police said: “We were called to reports of a one-car collision on a track off Stenson Road at around 1.25pm on Sunday. At the scene two men were found with serious injuries and both were taken to hospital, but sadly one of the men died on Monday.

“Our thoughts are with Lewis’s family and friends at this distressin­g time.”
