Olympus brothers aiming for judo glory
DERBY Olympus Judo Club brothers Hossein and Matin Dastan are competing at the English Judo Championships today.
Hossein (14) and Matin (13) will feature in the cadets and pre-cadets at the event, staged at London Docklands.
They last competed at the British Judo School Championships in March 2020, when Matin won bronze.
If they win a medal at the English Judo Championships today they will earn a place in the British Judo Cadets.
Derby Olympus have continued to train during the pandemic by adapting their training methods.
The club started by conducting outdoor training sessions and, as restrictions eased, began socially distanced indoor training using exercise bands and combat dummies.
