West was right to try to change Afghanistan

AS Piers Morgan would say, someone’s opinion is just as relevant as anybody else’s. So here’s mine.

In the last 20 years women’s rights and independence in Afghanistan have grown; the country was coming into the 20th century but now looks like it will descend back to medieval times.

In a recent letter, Phil Garner said we shouldn’t get involved in others’ quarrels, so maybe we shouldn’t have gone over the Channel in 1939 to help his beloved EU and just let the Germans do their own brand of evil.
