DEATH ON THE COMMON: MY MOTHER’S MURDER

Following Channel 4’s drama Deceit, which delved into the failed police honeytrap investigation into the murder of Rachel Nickell, this documentary revisits the high profile case.

The 23-year-old was killed in a frenzied attack on Wimbledon Common in 1992 in broad daylight.

The only witness was her two-year-old son Alex, who was left clinging to his mother’s body asking her to “Wake up mummy”.

With the family at the eye of the media storm, Alex’s father Andre Hanscombe decided to move away with him. Nearly 30 years later, the father and son, above, return to the UK to discuss Rachel’s murder and the events that followed.
